🌏 Will You Stand With Us? A Nation of 1.4 Billion Souls Is Waiting
A Call to Partner with Joel & Stellah Madasu — Missionaries to India
Imagine standing at the edge of the world's largest unreached mission field. Not a desert. Not a jungle. But a civilization — ancient, vibrant, and spiritually hungry — where 1.4 billion people live, breathe, laugh, and die, many of them never having heard the name of Jesus Christ spoken with love and clarity.
That is India. And that is where God has called Joel and Stellah Madasu.
The Numbers That Break God's Heart
The Joshua Project — the world's most trusted database for global missions — paints a sobering picture of India's spiritual landscape:
- 🌍 1.4 billion people call India home — the most populous nation on earth
- 📖 2,279 distinct people groups exist within India's borders
- 🔴 2,048 of those groups (89.9%) are classified as unreached — meaning less than 2% are Evangelical and less than 5% identify as Christian in any form
- ✝️ Only 2.3% of India's population is Christian
- 🙏 An estimated 27,983 pioneer workers are needed to reach these communities effectively
- 🔥 India is home to some of the world's largest unreached people groups — the Shaikh (72 million), the Chamar (54 million), the Yadav (41 million), the Brahmin (34 million), and the Mahratta (31 million) — all with little to no Gospel witness
Globally, the Joshua Project identifies 7,148 unreached people groups totaling 3.58 billion souls — and India sits at the very heart of this unfinished task. These are not statistics on a spreadsheet. These are people — mothers, fathers, children, grandparents — who deserve to hear that God loves them and that Jesus died for them.

Key highlights:
- 🟠 Hindu — 1,117M (79.8%) — the dominant majority
- 🔵 Muslim — 199M (14.2%) — second largest
- 🟢 Christian — 32M (2.3%) — with a callout arrow highlighting the urgency
- The annotation "⚠ Only 2.3% Christian — 1.37 Billion unreached" drives home the mission need at a glance

Who Are the Madasus?
Joel and Stellah Madasu are not career professionals who stumbled into missions. They are called. Deeply, unmistakably, irreversibly called.
Joel carries a burning passion to teach and preach the Word of God — in local churches, in open fields, in training centers where national pastors are being equipped to carry the torch further than any foreign missionary ever could. Stellah walks alongside the women of India — women who are often overlooked, underserved, and spiritually isolated — through prayer ministry and women's discipleship that transforms lives from the inside out.
Together, they serve under Christian Way Missions, Inc. (Greenville, SC), reaching Telugu-speaking communities and training national leaders across one of the world's most spiritually diverse nations. Their ministry is built on six unshakeable pillars: Scripture, Compassion, Partnership, Integrity, Excellence, and Innovation.
Pastor Ken Killen, D.Min., who has observed their ministry firsthand, says it plainly: "They consistently demonstrate the trustworthy character of godly servants... I can recommend them to you as servants worthy of your support both prayerfully and financially."
Why India? Why Now?
India is not just a mission field — it is the epicenter of the unfinished Great Commission. Jesus said in Matthew 28:19, "Go and make disciples of all nations." The word "nations" in the original Greek is ethne — people groups. And India has more unreached ethne than almost any other country on earth.
The Northeast states — Nagaland (94.7% Christian), Mizoram (87.2%), and Meghalaya (74.6%) — shine as beacons of what God can do. But the vast heartland of India — Uttar Pradesh (0.2% Christian), Rajasthan (0.1%), Bihar (0.1%) — remains in deep spiritual darkness. The harvest is ripe. The laborers are desperately few.
India's linguistic diversity (over 180 languages), its deeply entrenched caste system, and the rise of religious nationalism make this one of the most challenging yet most urgent mission fields in the world. That is precisely why the Madasus need you.

Catagories:
- 🟢 Deep green → Northeast states with high Christian % (Nagaland 94.7%, Mizoram 87.2%, Meghalaya 74.6%)
- 🟡 Yellow/orange → Mid-range states (Manipur 41.3%, Arunachal Pradesh 30.3%, Goa 25.1%, Kerala 19%)
- 🔴 Deep red → Heartland states with very low Christian % (UP 0.2%, Rajasthan 0.1%, Bihar 0.1%)
- Every state is labeled with its name and exact Christian percentage
- A color gradient legend runs along the right side
The stark contrast between the green Northeast and the red Hindi heartland visually communicates the urgency of the Madasus' mission — most of India's 1.4 billion people live in the red zones.

What Your Partnership Does
Every prayer you pray and every dollar you give goes directly into:
- 📢 Evangelism — Preaching the Gospel in unreached villages and communities
- 📚 Discipleship — Walking new believers through the Word of God
- 🏫 Training Nationals — Equipping Indian pastors and leaders who will multiply the work far beyond what any single missionary can do
- 📱 Media Ministry — Using modern technology to reach people in their homes, on their phones, in their language
- 👩 Women's Ministry — Empowering women through prayer, Scripture, and community
You may not be called to go to India. But you are called to send. You are called to pray. You are called to give. The Apostle Paul wrote in Romans 10:14, "How can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent?"
You are the sender. Joel and Stellah are the goers. Together, you reach the unreached.
Three Simple Steps to Change Eternity
🙏 1. Pray
Join the Madasus' Prayer Group and follow their Prayer Calendar. Your intercession is not a passive act — it is the engine that drives the mission. Without prayer, as the Madasus themselves say, "there is nothing we can do."
💌 2. Stay Informed
Subscribe to their newsletter and receive regular updates from the field. Know the names. Know the stories. Know what God is doing — and what still needs to be done.
💛 3. Give
Make a donation today — whether a one-time gift or a monthly commitment. Every gift, large or small, makes an eternal difference. You are not just funding a ministry. You are investing in souls that will spend eternity in the presence of God because someone cared enough to send.
The Harvest Is Great — But the Laborers Are Few
In a nation of 1.4 billion people, where 89.9% of people groups have never been meaningfully reached with the Gospel, the urgency cannot be overstated. The clock is ticking. Lives are being lived and lost without the hope of Christ.
Joel and Stellah Madasu have answered the call. They have left the comfort of the familiar to stand in the gap for millions who have no one else standing for them.
Will you stand with them?
The Great Commission is not optional. It is not someone else's responsibility. It belongs to every follower of Jesus — including you. You may be thousands of miles from India, but through your prayers and your giving, you can be present in every village, every training session, every life transformed by the power of the Gospel.
"The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field." — Luke 10:2
