What We Believe
The Scriptures
We believe the Bible—consisting of the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments—is verbally inspired by God, inerrant in the original manuscripts, and the final authority for faith and practice. Through the Scriptures, God reveals Himself and His will to humanity.
Scripture: 2 Tim. 3:16–17; 2 Pet. 1:21; John 17:17
The Godhead
We believe in one living and true God, eternally existing in three Persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—equal in essence and attributes, yet distinct in person and role; the Creator of all things.
Scripture: Deut. 6:4; Matt. 28:19; 2 Cor. 13:14
The Decrees of God
We believe that according to His holy and sovereign will, God has eternally purposed all things that come to pass for His own glory.
Scripture: Eph. 1:11; Isa. 46:9–10
Creation
We believe God created all things directly and out of nothing in six literal days, as recorded in Genesis. Mankind was created in the image and likeness of God and did not evolve from another life form.
Scripture: Gen. 1:1; Ex. 20:11; Heb. 11:3
Angels
We believe angels are created, spiritual beings who serve God and minister to His people; while some remain holy, others fell into rebellion.
Scripture: Heb. 1:14; Col. 1:16; Matt. 25:41
The Fall of Man
We believe man was created sinless but fell through disobedience, incurring spiritual death; consequently, all humanity is sinful by nature and deed and stands under just condemnation apart from God’s grace.
Scripture: Gen. 3:6–7; Rom. 5:12; Eph. 2:1
The Lord Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, eternally the Son. Conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin, He lived a sinless life, died as a substitutionary sacrifice for sinners, rose bodily from the dead, ascended to heaven, and will return in glory.
Scripture: John 1:1,14; Luke 1:35; 1 Cor. 15:3–4; Heb. 1:3
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is a divine Person who convicts the world of sin, regenerates and indwells believers permanently, and sanctifies them for holy living.
Scripture: John 16:8; Titus 3:5; 1 Cor. 6:19; Eph. 1:13–14
Salvation
We believe salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone. It is the free gift of God, not earned by works. All who truly believe are forgiven, justified, regenerated, and made secure forever.
Scripture: Eph. 2:8–9; Rom. 3:24–26; John 3:16
The Church
We believe the universal Church is the Body of Christ, composed of all true believers baptized by the Spirit into one body. The local church is a congregation of baptized believers united for worship, fellowship, instruction, prayer, evangelism, and the ordinances.
Scripture: 1 Cor. 12:13; Eph. 1:22–23; Acts 2:42
The Ordinances
We believe the Lord Jesus instituted two ordinances for His Church: believer’s baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper as a memorial. These are testimonies of faith and obedience and confer no saving merit.
Scripture: Matt. 28:19; Acts 2:41; 1 Cor. 11:23–26
The Lord’s Day
We believe the first day of the week, the Lord’s Day, commemorates Christ’s resurrection and is to be devoted to worship, service, and spiritual growth.
Scripture: Acts 20:7; Rev. 1:10; 1 Cor. 16:2
Eternal Security
We believe all who are truly born again are kept by the power of God and the indwelling Spirit and are therefore secure forever.
Scripture: John 10:28–29; Rom. 8:38–39; Eph. 4:30
Assurance
We believe believers may have full assurance of salvation based on God’s promises in Scripture and the inner witness of the Spirit, not on personal merit.
Scripture: 1 John 5:13; Rom. 8:16; Heb. 10:22
The Great Commission
We believe Christ commands all believers to proclaim the Gospel and make disciples of all nations, in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Scripture: Matt. 28:18–20; Acts 1:8
The Second Coming of Christ
We believe Jesus Christ will personally and visibly return to the earth in power and great glory. He will defeat Satan, fulfill His promises to Israel, judge the nations, and consummate God’s redemptive plan.
Scripture: Matt. 24:30; Acts 1:11; Rom. 11:25–27; Rev. 20:1–3
